"Bushisms"
I have this poster of 'funny' things said by George Bush on my wall. I typed out some of them for a comment in someone's journal. Thought I'd share.

This is not meant to offend anyone. If you think it might do, just don't read it.

"One of the great things about books is sometimes there are fantastic pictures."

"There's no question that the minute I got elected, the storm clouds on the horizon were getting nearly directly overhead."

"You teach your child to read and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test."

"The great thing about America is everybody should vote."

"I've got a preference for friends."

"The reason I believe in a large tax cut, because it's what I believe."

"Home is important. It's important to have a home."

"I don't read what's handed to me."

"I don't know whether I'm going to win or not. I think I am. I do know I'm ready for the job. And if not, that's just the way it goes."

"I understand small business growth, I was one."

"Reading is the basics of all learning."

"We'll let our friends be the peacemakers and the great country called America will be the pacemakers."

"We can not let terrorists and rogue nations hold this nation hostile or hold our allies hostile."

"Will the highways on the internet become more few."

"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."

"I do not believe that we've put a guilty - I mean innocent person to death in the state of Texas."

"We are friends with NATO. We are a part of NATO. We are friends with Europe. We are a part of Europe." - LOL, that one's kinda my favourite :D

"I hope we get to the bottom of the answer."

"I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe. I believe what I believe is right."

"Well, I think if you say you're going to do something and you don't do it, that's trustworthiness."

"I've coined new words like 'Misunderstanding' and 'Hispanically'."

"We spent a lot of time talking about Africa, as we should. Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease."

"I know that human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully."

"They misunderestimated me."

"I think if you know what you believe, it makes it a lot easier to answer questions. I can't answer your question."

"I know how hard it is to put food on your family."

"It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it."

"I'm sure you can imagine, it's an unimaginable honor to live here."

ETA: Ohh another fave that I forgot to include:

"More and more of our exports are coming from other countries." :D

*ROTFLOL* Oh dear lords, those are unbelievable. *snerk* And this man is running our country. Very scary.

But it does bring to mind this question:

Who is his speech writer and publicist and what are they getting paid to purposefully make the man look like (an even bigger) idiot (than he already is)? And why aren't they fired yet?

*rolls eyes* How on Earth do any of "our" enemies take us seriously with this man at the helm?

Thanks for sharin' these.

All I can think is that maybe he gets 'impassioned' and moves away from his prepared speech - although after that's happened a few times, you think he'd learn to stick to what's been written. *rolls eyes*

Oh that's fab... personal favourite:
"I know that human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully."
Surreal is not the word.. (perhaps that should be an Atlantis thing *g*)

I have to laugh, otherwise it would be so scary....

Thanks for sharing

Yeah that one completely threw me too! What? huh? Do we think he was talking to a fisher's association or something? *freakshow*

The Europe one made me *shudder*. *Shudder*, I tell you! It's bad enough that he's always on the news, and often visits, but the thought of having him on my continent all the time? *SHUDDERS* I honestly don't know how Americans manage... *is still shuddering* Seriously, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at some of these.

"I do not believe that we've put a guilty - I mean innocent person to death in the state of Texas." That's such a Freudian slip. And I'm pretty sure Amnesty International would disagree.
"Well, I think if you say you're going to do something and you don't do it, that's trustworthiness." That one should be every career politician's motto.

And this one? "I hope we get to the bottom of the answer." Should be printed out and stuck to the monitor of every slash writer! LOL!

Oh God. Did he really say all these things? I just don't want to believe it. Please. Tell me he's not the leader of the (still) most powerful nation in the world! That thought is so scary.
