Wow, I never thought it was possible to be THAT tired.
Just had my first oncall. I worked 39 hours in three days! It was absolutely crazy, I was running around like mad. But I managed to get through it without any major disasters, which is kinda nice to know. And in all of the three days I had no time to stop and sit down or eat. If nothing else I should at least lose some weight this year! :D

After spending most of today in bed watching Due South, I'm feeling a little bit more human now (I'm not sure my feet have gotten with the program yet though). But I don't think I can deal with facing the massive number of posts on my flist. Nothing life changing happened over the weekend, right?

Glad to hear you made it through being On Call! My mum was asking how you were getting on the other day *g*

Do you want me to answer that question about nothing life changing over the weekend? 'Cause LJ went a bi crazy again sadly. Other than that nothing much though.

*sends you a virtual foot massage*

Awww your mum is lovely for thinking about me :)

I'm seeing some of the LJ stuff. Scary. *fingers crossed for nothing too life changing to happen*

*sits back and enjoys*

Yay! for making it through. I'm so glad I decided that physics was more my speed than medicine. *was going to be a forensic pathologist*

My mam's an ER nurse so I know what to do for sore feet. Soak 'em in Epsom salts dissolved in water as hot as you can stand it. Pat feet dry with a warm towel. Then, pour 1/2 cup of olive oil (sunflower will work too) into a container with 10 drops of essential oil. Mix well and rub the mixture onto your feet. Use a circular motion starting with the heel and moving toward your toes. Do the underside of your feet first; then move to the top. After you do that, wrap your feet in the warm towel and chill for about thirty minutes. But don't try to walk anywhere, you'll slide on anything that isn't carpet. When you finish with that, soak your feet in Epsom salts again. When you finish with that, pat your feet dry again. Then, if you have any open sores put on a salve; I have the recipe for an organic one that works wonders if you want it, but it takes forever to make.

Do that once a week for about three months. That's about how long it'll take your feet to get used to it. Then, just do that once a month; whenever your feet get sore just rub them with the oil. It's alot of work, but my mam's never had problems the way the other nurses have.

As for life changing stuff, my little sister wrote her first fanfic. *huggles her* It was about the Mythbusters build team at a bar and was pretty bad, but I'm still very proud.

Wow! That does sound like a lot of work. Thanks for sharing though. I think I'll try it out tommorow - I have another day off!!! :)

Awwww I wish my sisters were at all fandomy. *is proud by proxy* :D

Congrats on making it through! I'm completely in awe of the ability that you guys have to continue making correct decisions after working so many hours without a proper rest. *is impressed* :)

Thanks. I hope they were all correct decisions anyway, I guess you can only really tell in hindsight...*fingers crossed*

Wow, congrats! You should get a medal for that.

On an entirely unrelated subject: a girl on my flist asked me if I know what "kukalaka" is, since your lj name popped up in two entries on her flist (one of them being mine with the icon meme). I have no idea, though. Is it from a fandom?
Maria: brains over brawnria_kukalaka on August 10th, 2007 09:38 pm (UTC)
Yeah :) It's from DS9 - the name of Julian's teddy bear *g*
