I'm in surgery this morning. My normal supervisor has gone off on maternity leave though so this is my forst day with the new one. Since he was new, he asked me to discuss all the patient's with him before making any decisions. (I think he wanted to make sure I wasn't completely incompetent, which is fair enough). So the m9orning was going pretty well, I discussed them all with him and he agreed with me each time. But I just had a little girl with tummy pain and it was the most straight forward thing in the world. So I let her go, forgetting that I was supposed to talk about it. I then went to talk to him, and didn't let on that she had gone (!!). He mainly agreed with me again, but wanted to feel her tummy for himself and get a urine dipstick. So I then had to tell him that she was gone. He wasn't too impressed. Oh dear, I have to have him for the next four months!
P.S. My next patient hasn't arrived, for those of you who were worried I was making everyone wait and holding up the surgery so I could play on LJ :D
