LJ looks funny this morning. I'm sure there was lots of warning about this happening and there's a way to make it normal again, but I tend not to pay attention to those things. Does anyone know?

And at least I got a little pop-up asking if I wanted people to be able to stalk me!

As of right now, there is no way to make it normal again which prompted changeitback and a lot of complaints. They only mentioned it in one of the state of LJ posts a few months(?) back and I remember it in passing, where I too hoped there would be an option to keep the old layout. Per usual, they thought we'd jump on the bandwagon apparently.

I was happy I got that pop-up too!

That's a good idea, hopefully TPTB will listen.

There isn't a way to change it, it's not the prettiest thing ever but barring a few quibbles you get used to it very quickly (or I have)

They sort of warned us. At least they told us, rather than asking, and gave no options for staying with the old version. but it isn't too bad - just feels odd.

There's been quite a bit of news/discussion about the stalker thing. At least they've listened to reason and made it opt-in as a default. Yes, they were going to make it opt-out...

The thought that anyone could search me or my friends like that makes me shudder. Talk about invasion of privacy! And that they should ever have considered the other way!!! I assume they think the majority of their customers are teenagers without careers etc. who don't care who reads their diaries!

that's why I subscribed to e-mail notification whenever there are new posts in news, otherwise I would have been as flabbergasted as you about that friend finder feature thingie and the new profile design. it's outrageous how they sometimes change stuff without a warning, and then don't even give us the opportunity to opt out. at least we can opt out of the friend finder. I wish they would stop making lj so facebook-y. I mean, there's a reason why I have an lj account AND one on facebook.
